Two checks worth doing first, because both of them are easier to do now than to undo later.
Read your ISP's terms of service. Many residential agreements prohibit reselling or sharing the connection, and that clause is what these apps do. Enforcement is rare and usually amounts to a warning, but you should make that decision knowingly rather than discover it.
Decide what machine this runs on. Anything continuously powered works, and the whole economic case rests on the hardware and electricity being sunk cost. Buying a mini PC in order to run these apps does not pay back on any sensible timeline, and any page that tells you otherwise is selling you the mini PC.
